Expert care for every skin concern

Skin, hair and nails have a way of telling us when something's not right — a rash that won't settle, stubborn acne, a changing mole, thinning hair. Our general dermatology service diagnoses and treats the full range of skin conditions, for every age, led by a professor of dermatology.

What it's for

One dermatology home for the whole family

General dermatology is the everyday heart of skin care — the first place to bring almost any concern about your skin, hair or nails. From a baby's eczema to an adult's acne, a suspicious mole to a stubborn rash, it's where problems are properly diagnosed and treated.

Because skin conditions can look alike but behave very differently, an accurate diagnosis matters. A professor-led assessment — with dermoscopy and on-site tests where needed — means you get the right treatment first time, rather than trying one cream after another.

And where a concern needs specialist surgery, the same team handles skin-cancer and vein surgery in-house.

How we work

Diagnosis first, then the right treatment

So many skin conditions look alike. Getting the diagnosis right is what turns months of trial-and-error into a clear plan that actually works.

A professor-led diagnosis, so you get the right treatment first time
Dermoscopy and mole mapping for accurate, close assessment
On-site tests — skin swabs, scrapings and biopsies where needed
Evidence-based treatment focused on healthy, natural-looking skin
Minor procedures and lesion removal done in clinic
Direct route to skin-cancer and vein surgery if a concern needs it

Good to know

General dermatology, answered

Do I need a referral to see a dermatologist?
No referral is needed. You can book a consultation directly for any skin, hair or nail concern — whether it's something new or a problem that's been bothering you for a while.
Do you treat children's skin conditions?
Yes — our general dermatology care is for all ages. We treat childhood eczema, rashes, warts, birthmarks and allergic skin as gently as possible, alongside adult and older-adult skin care.
Can I have a mole checked?
Absolutely. We assess moles closely with dermoscopy and, where appropriate, mole mapping — and if anything needs removing or further investigation, our skin-cancer surgery team can handle it on-site.
What happens if my skin problem needs surgery?
Because dermatology, skin-cancer (MOHS) surgery and vein surgery are all under one team here, there's a direct route from diagnosis to treatment — no separate referrals or waiting between clinics.
Can you help with hair loss or scalp problems?
Yes. Hair thinning, alopecia, dandruff and scalp conditions are all part of general dermatology. We assess the cause and set out a treatment plan tailored to you.
Is a dermatology consultation covered by insurance?
Cover varies by policy. Our team is happy to help you understand what your plan includes and to assist with any claim.
