What it is

One specialty for three connected systems

ENT — otolaryngology — is the care of the ear, nose and throat, and the related structures of the head and neck. These systems sit close together and work together, which is why a problem in one so often affects another: a blocked nose disturbs sleep, an ear issue affects hearing and balance, a throat problem changes the voice.

Our ENT care covers the whole range, medical and surgical, for every age. We diagnose accurately — with the examination and on-site tests needed to see clearly — and treat conservatively first, turning to surgery only where it's genuinely the best option.

Clear diagnosis, effective treatment — ears, nose and throat.

Common reasons to visit

When ENT problems disrupt daily life

Some ENT issues are one-off; others quietly wear you down. These are among the most common reasons people come to see us.

Recurring infections

Repeated ear, sinus or throat infections that keep coming back — we find why and break the cycle rather than just treating each episode.

Hearing & tinnitus

Muffled hearing, hearing loss or ringing in the ears, assessed with proper hearing tests to find the cause and the right help.

Snoring & sleep

Loud snoring, disturbed sleep and sleep apnoea — often linked to the nose, tonsils or adenoids, and very treatable.

Blocked nose & sinuses

Persistent congestion, sinus pressure, loss of smell or ongoing rhinitis that medication alone hasn't solved.

Diagnosis & testing

Seeing the problem clearly

Accurate ENT care starts with a proper look and the right tests — much of which we can do on-site, so answers come quickly.

Ear & nasal examination

Detailed examination of the ear canal, eardrum and nasal passages — including endoscopy where needed — to see the problem clearly.

Hearing tests

Audiology to measure hearing accurately in adults and children, pinpointing the type and degree of any hearing loss.

Balance assessment

Assessment for dizziness and balance problems, to identify inner-ear and related causes.

On-site imaging

Access to on-site imaging for a fast, clear picture of the sinuses and related structures when it's needed.

Treatment options

Medical first, surgical when needed

Most ENT problems settle with medical treatment. Where surgery is the right answer, our specialist offers it with expert, careful care — for adults and children.

Medical

Medical treatment

Targeted medication for infections, allergies and inflammation — antibiotics, nasal sprays, antihistamines and more, matched to the diagnosis.

In-clinic

Ear & wax procedures

Safe, professional ear wax removal and minor in-clinic ear procedures for comfort and clearer hearing.

Allergy

Allergy & rhinitis care

Diagnosis and management of allergic rhinitis and hay fever driving nasal and sinus symptoms — often the hidden cause.

Surgical

Tonsil & adenoid surgery

Removal of troublesome tonsils or adenoids where recurrent infection, breathing or sleep problems warrant it.

Surgical

Nasal & sinus surgery

Procedures to correct a deviated septum, treat chronic sinusitis or remove polyps and restore clear breathing.

Surgical

Ear surgery

Surgical care for persistent ear problems — including grommets for glue ear in children — where medical treatment isn't enough.

When to book

Signs it's worth seeing an ENT specialist

If any of these sound familiar — especially when they persist or keep coming back — an ENT assessment can find the cause and bring lasting relief.

Ear, sinus or throat infections that keep returning
Hearing that's become muffled or reduced
Ringing in the ears (tinnitus) that persists
A blocked nose or sinus pressure that won't clear
Loud snoring or pauses in breathing during sleep
A hoarse voice lasting more than a few weeks
Difficulty or discomfort when swallowing
Dizziness or balance problems

Seek urgent care for difficulty breathing, a heavy nosebleed that won't stop, sudden hearing loss, or difficulty swallowing your own saliva — these need prompt attention.

Good to know

General ENT, answered

Do I need a referral to see an ENT specialist?
No referral is needed. You can book a consultation directly for any ear, nose or throat concern, for yourself or your child.
Do you treat both adults and children?
Yes. Our ENT care covers all ages. For younger children we also have dedicated paediatric ENT care, gently tailored to little ones — but babies, children, teens and adults are all welcome.
Can you remove ear wax?
Yes. Professional, safe ear wax removal is one of the common procedures we offer — it's quick, comfortable and can make a real difference to blocked ears and muffled hearing.
When are tonsils or adenoids removed?
Not routinely — most sore throats don't need surgery. We consider removing tonsils or adenoids when infections are frequent and disruptive, or when they're affecting breathing or sleep. We'll always explain whether it's the right step for you or your child.
Can ENT treatment help my snoring?
Often, yes. Snoring and sleep apnoea are frequently linked to the nose, tonsils or adenoids. We assess the cause and can treat it medically or surgically — improving both sleep and daytime wellbeing.
Is ENT care covered by insurance?
Cover varies by policy. Our team is happy to help you understand what your plan includes and to assist with any claim.
