How often should I have a health check?
For most healthy adults, once a year is a sensible habit. If you have an ongoing condition, a family history or specific risks, your doctor may suggest checking certain things more often. We'll recommend the right rhythm for you.
Do I need to be unwell to book a preventive check?
Not at all — that's rather the point. A preventive check is for when you feel fine, so we can keep it that way and spot anything quiet before it becomes a problem.
What does a health check include?
Typically a review of your history and lifestyle, a physical examination, blood pressure and heart checks, and blood tests covering things like blood sugar, cholesterol, thyroid and iron. Your doctor tailors it to your age and risk.
Do I need to fast before my blood tests?
For some tests, yes — fasting gives more accurate results for blood sugar and cholesterol. We'll tell you exactly how to prepare when you book, so there's no guesswork.
Can I get my results and a plan in the same place?
Yes. Blood tests and in-house imaging are done on-site, so in many cases your doctor can review the results and talk you through a plan without sending you elsewhere.
Is a health check covered by insurance?
