What it's for

Small structures, precise care

The hand and wrist are among the most intricate parts of the body — a dense network of small bones, joints, tendons, nerves and ligaments working together in fine coordination. When one part is injured, worn or compressed, the effect on grip, feeling and everyday function can be far-reaching.

Hand surgery is the specialist care of all of it. Because the structures are so delicate and so interdependent, accurate diagnosis and precise treatment really matter. Many conditions respond well to non-surgical care — splinting, injections and therapy — and where surgery is needed, it's careful, targeted and focused on restoring function.

The goal is simple: comfortable, capable hands you can rely on again.

How we treat

From splints to precise surgery

Many hand and wrist conditions settle without an operation. We always start with the least invasive option that works — and when surgery is the right choice, it's precise, targeted and focused on getting you back to full use.

Non-surgical

Diagnosis & assessment

A careful examination with on-site imaging where needed, to pinpoint exactly which structure is causing your symptoms.

Non-surgical

Splinting & bracing

Custom splints and supports to rest an injured or inflamed hand, ease symptoms and support natural healing.

In-clinic

Steroid injections

Precisely placed injections to settle inflammation in conditions like carpal tunnel and trigger finger — often avoiding surgery.

Non-surgical

Hand therapy & rehab

Guided exercises and hand therapy to restore movement, strength and coordination, before or after any procedure.

Surgical

Carpal tunnel & nerve release

Quick, effective decompression surgery to relieve trapped nerves and restore feeling and strength to the hand.

Surgical

Surgery when it's needed

Precise operative care — tendon repair, trigger-finger release, fracture fixation, cyst removal and more — with full aftercare.

Good to know

Hand surgery, answered

Do I need a referral to see a hand surgeon?
No referral is needed. You can book a consultation directly for any hand, wrist or forearm concern — whether it's a recent injury or a problem that's built up over time.
Will I definitely need surgery?
Very often not. Many hand conditions — including carpal tunnel and trigger finger — respond well to splinting, injections or hand therapy. We only recommend surgery when conservative care isn't enough and an operation will genuinely restore your comfort and function.
What does carpal tunnel surgery involve?
It's a quick, effective procedure to release the pressure on the nerve at the wrist, relieving the numbness, tingling and weakness of carpal tunnel syndrome. We'll explain everything clearly and guide your recovery afterwards.
Can trigger finger be treated without surgery?
Often, yes. Many cases settle with a steroid injection and splinting. If symptoms persist, a small release procedure is quick and highly effective — we'll talk you through the options.
Do you treat children's hand conditions too?
Yes. Alongside adult hand surgery, we offer dedicated paediatric hand surgery for children's hand injuries and congenital differences — a rare specialty. Ask us and we'll direct you to the right care.
Is hand surgery covered by insurance?
Cover varies by policy. Our team is happy to help you understand what your plan includes and to assist with any claim.
